If you were looking to make some sweet peripherals. for your Android device, things just got a lot easier for you.

The microcontroller supplier Microchip has announced that they will be releasing dev kits that will allow you to create, test and deploy accessories for your Android devices.

The starter kits will allow for 16 and 32 bit development, and will allow you to make such things as GPS devices, audio docks, glucose meters, and credit card terminals. Those are simple examples of course and I’m sure there will be much more interesting things coming out of the hands of developers who get their hands on these new toys.

The starter kit is available today for $79.99 and Microchip plans on releasing another kit third quarter of 2011. The software which works with the controllers is also available today, check the links below to go see what it do for yourself.
