Is Google Planning New Music Service?

GoogleMusic

There’s been tons of buzz on the net about Google’s possible entrance into the music game, recent reports claim that Google is already testing a streaming music service internally.

Google hasn’t made any official claims yet but they have told record execs they are hoping to have a music service out this year. The thing that seems to be slowing them down lately is the record labels tentative approach to their planned service. Google apparently wants to allow users to store their music libraries on their cloud servers which opens up a whole new can of copyright worms.

If Google succeeds and release a viable competitor to iTunes, it could help shake up Apples goliath control over digital music distribution.

All I’m hoping for is an Android version of the iPod, that’d be sweet.
