New Technology Could Charge Your Batteries in Minutes

A report came out last weekend from the University of Illinois, apparently they’ve been busy at work on a brand new way to charge batteries.

The technology reportedly can charge a battery, like the one you have in your cell phone or computer in a matter of minutes instead of hours, they use a new technique that according to reports allows the battery to act more like a supercapcitor than a battery.

According to wired: “A full-scale lithium battery made with the electrode could be charged to 75 percent within a minute, and hit 90 percent within two minutes.” Check the link for the source.

They’re not the only ones at the University of Illinois working on new battery technology either. Is Illinois set to become the new battery capitol of the world?.
