Why There Is Good Reason NOT To Celebrate Osama Bin Laden’s Death

osama-bin-laden

I know this has nothing to do with tech, I’ve been trying my best to ignore all the news and just keep writing about tech…but it’s just irking me too much. Yes Bin Laden is dead, yes this strikes a blow to the terrorist organization he was running, but no there is no reason to celebrate or be happy, what your doing is being a hypocrite and ignoring what I see is common sense and logic.

First off, terrorists don’t hate, and aren’t jealous of our democracy or freedom. Al Qaeda hates us because we support Israel and their government. Why they decided to attack us is beyond me, maybe they were just upset or wanted to prove they could touch us. Whatever the reason they killed over 3,000 people in one attack. Before that there were pretty much no real successful foreign terrorist attacks on our soil and quite frankly when compared to Israel or England we were being left alone. Instead of looking at it rationally people overreacted to the media hype, bought and off we went to war.

Fighting terror by going to war is like fighting anger by pissing someone off in my opinion, whats more terrifying, being attacked by terrorist once every 15-20 years mostly unsuccessfully? or being attacked by one of the worlds largest militaries backed by the biggest military budget who are coming to invade your homes and question you about whether or not your involved in a terrorist act you knew nothing about, a country that can drop bombs from miles off sea, never knowing when or where they will strike? oh and that will be consistent for 10 years, are you scared yet?

You see to me most people are just ignoring the feelings of those who were affected by our actions in getting Bin Laden, no one cares about the thousands of men, women and children who were murdered in the process of our revenge. The terrorists didn’t just kill those people on 9-11-2001 they also gave us an excuse to kill thousands more of their and our own people, but we supported it, we paid for it, and now we’re fucking proud of it?

I’m not I’m disgusted by those of you who think that this is justified, it could have just been those people killed in the 9-111 attacks dead. Instead, thanks to our lack of emotional control, we lost many many many many more, and effectively changed our way of life. What did we win? What do we get? What satisfaction is there in this?

It’s not our place to fight terrorism, it’s an emotion that in itself is a dumbassed statement to make. We are a terrorist country in that we scare the shit out of anyone who would dare get in our way, people are actually saying “yea see what happens when you fuck with the U.S” what do you mean to achieve by that statement? Is it to insight terror in anyone who might attack us? If so then you my friend are a terrorist who is too scared to take anything in to his own hands and hides behind the strongest military in the world? Home of the brave eh?

Not only is this county terrorizing others, but it’s also trying to rule the world by sponsored democracy, putting people who are U.S-trade friendly in power so they can rape countries resources in order to feed our fat American asses. So although we vote them in, we have essentially been supporting multiple dictators with that common goal.

So those are few of many many many more reasons not to celebrate the death of Bin Laden, I didn’t even get to the point of us having antagonized Al Qaeda now and what they might do.

Media Overhypes iPhone, Verizon, AT&T Survey

A recent report by ChangeWave surveyed  4,068 consumers on their iPhone 4 service in an attempt to gauge their satisfaction with the device and see if there are any glaring differences in the “my Verizon iPhone 4 drops less calls than AT&T’s claim. Some people are reporting some wild things based on the numbers in this survey and, no sir I don’t like it.

Just Google iPhone 4 ChangeWave report and you’ll be hit with such headlines as “AT&T’s iPhone 4 Users Report twice as many dropped calls” and “AT&T iPhone 4 Drops More Calls Than Verizon…”  I don’t fault ChangeWave in the least they did a decent survey got some results and shared them with the world that’s fine. My problem is with reports like the ones I mentioned above, I have no idea where whoever wrote these things learned math but I think they need a statistics review.

Let me break this down without complicated mathematics or hyperbole. The report that went along with this survey states that ChangeWave Research surveyed 4,068 customers total, that’s from AT&T and Verizon. The article later happens to mention that 1,283 of those surveyed were Verizon iPhone customers….ok then lets see here 4,068 – 1,283 = 2,285 which means that they surveyed almost double the amount of AT&T customers as they did Verizon. Not to mention the thousands of possible people they could have gotten to if they spent a little more time asking.

Call me stupid but if I was to take something seriously, say a survey/report, I want the numbers to make sense, these numbers do not. I do not believe that this is a valid enough survey for the people who wrote those headlines to be making such wild claims.

I think that this survey should have at least asked the same amount of customers on both providers the same questions. Only then can you have an validity in making such claims. Don;’t fall for media BS or hype I’m not even going to tell you the rest of the claims of this survey because I obviously don’t respect it’s results. Check the link below and you can read it for yourself.

Scientist Waste More Time Proving Creationist Stupidity

stupidity-stupid-creationist-creation-evolution-atheist-demotivational-poster-1278248093

The well known petroglyph which resides in Kachina Bridge, Utah, apparently, according to people with no real scientific background, depicted humans riding on dinosaurs. The image has been used for years by creationists to claim the earth is 6000 years old and that man walked with dinosaurs, and has now been proven to just be misinterpreted stains.

Researchers from Fayetteville State University analyzed the four images in question using the naked eye, binoculars and telephoto lenses. They found no evidence that the drawings are in fact humans riding dinosaurs, but quite a bit that shows they might be stains.

The picture above should be enough to show my stance on creationism.

Technology Causing Sleep Loss

sleeping beb

In a study released last week states that people are losing sleep due to technology.

The study states that light-emitting screens are becoming more and more commonly used during the night time, most notably in the hour before people go to sleep. The National Sleep Foundation says that the increase in device usage before bedtime is causing people to lose sleep and suffer from insomnia. In their study 43% of people aged 13 to 64 felt that they aren’t getting enough sleep during the work week.

The study reveals that older people are more inclined to watch television before bed as their tech-vice while younger people tend to stay up playing games, on their phones or surfing the internet.

16 Year Old Confesses to Killing Mother Over PlayStation

Philadelphia police heard the confession of a 16 year old boy (Kendall Anderson) yesterday who beat his mother (Rashida Anderson) to death with a claw hammer after she took his PlayStation.

According to reports a very long argument the day after Thanksgiving, led to Miss Anderson taking Kendall's PlayStation away as punishment for the way he was acting. Kendall then waited until she went to sleep and hit her 20 times with a claw hammer, killing her while she slept.

Kendall apparently tried to cremate Miss Anderson in their oven and after that third epic fail in this saga he decided to smash her head in with a chair and then throw her body with some garbage in an alley.

Kendall says that if he had the chance he would not repeat his actions, stating "I miss my mother, she was the only one who cared for me".

Kids Being Taught to Hate Free Press

Mike Masnick at Techdirt has written a really interesting article this morning about how children visiting the Ronald Reagan library are, as part of the tour being taught about the invasion of Grenada by being placed in an Oval Office replica and taking on the role of Mr. Regan himself.
The article is definitely worth reading, but the thing that struck me the hardest was how, in the middle of the attack. Those damn reporters ruin everything by reporting on two US carriers positions, forcing you to reroute their positions and ruining your chance at a surprise attack.
