The ps3 hacker Geohot recently ended his lawsuit in an undisclosed settlement with Sony and on Saturday announced he would be donating $10,000 dollars to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Geohot took donations on his website at the beginning of the lawsuit via his blog and promised that if there was any left over he would donate it. Looks likes he’s making good on that promise as well as supporting a foundation that makes a point to fight for people’s right to do what they want with the hardware they buy.
The list of cases the EFF has under it’s belt is very impressive. According to their website the EFF uses a mix of lawyers, policy analysts. activities and technologists to achieve significant victories on behalf of consumers and the general public.
Geohot is boycotting Sony for their actions against him and other hackers, and so am I
